Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is about a Victorian-era barber who swears revenge on the corrupt judge who ruined his life. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney turns to murder, while Mrs. Lovett bakes the bodies into meat pies and sells them to the unsuspecting public—dark comedy and terror in one amazing musical.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Sweeney Todd (F2-Gb4) Age: 40 to 55: A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is Johanna's father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. Our story's tormented protagonist.
Mrs. Lovett (G3-E5) Age: 35 to 50: An entrepreneurial and amoral meat pie shop owner. She falls in love with Todd and turns his desire for revenge into a profitable business venture.
Anthony Hope (Bb2-F4) Age: 20 to 30: A naive and youthful sailor returning to London. He helps Todd return to London and unexpectedly falls in love with Johanna.
Johanna (Bb3-A5) Age: 18 to 21: A spritely girl, full of innocence, constantly yearning for freedom. Todd's long-lost daughter and Turpin's ward.
Tobias Ragg (Bb2-Ab4) Age: 12 to 18: A poor youngster apprenticed to Pirelli. He finds a surrogate family in Todd and Lovett.
Judge Turpin (E2-Gb4) Age: 50 to 65: A lecherous public official who portrays himself as a sanctimonious authoritarian. He takes advantage of his position in the city and is responsible for imprisoning Todd.
Beadle Bamford (D3-D5) Age: 40 to 55: A pompous public official. He is deeply loyal to the corrupt Turpin.
Beggar Woman (Ab3-F5 ) Age: 35 to 50: A deranged and schizophrenic woman who harbors a dark, surprising secret.
Adolfo Pirelli (B2-C5) Age: 30 to 45: A flamboyant Italian rival barber; a charlatan with a secret past.
Jonas Fogg (non-singing) Age: 35 to 60: The owner of Fogg's Asylum. He sells the hair of madmen to wigmakers.

Virgil Blessing: A kind, older ranch hand and Bo's mentor, providing a grounding influence. Can play early to late 40s - 60s.
Grace Hoyland: The resilient, middle-aged owner of the diner, deserted by her husband. Can play late 30s - mid 50s.
Elma Duckworth: A bright, dramatic high school girl working for Grace, full of dreams. Can play high school age.

PLAY SYNOPSIS:
Bus Stop takes place just after midnight during heavy snowfall in a dingy rural Kansas diner, serving as a temporary refuge for passengers from a bus that must lay over due to closed roads. With a mix of humor, the play becomes a vivid backdrop for exploring themes of loneliness and human connection, as the characters, preoccupied with their own issues, struggle to engage with one another.
